Lion-Kitty Popups: A Free Printable Ear Training Game

by Kristin

Free Printable Ear Training Game
Younger kids really love this game. We first review that the piano can make high and low sounds. Next, I show them clips of a kitty meowing and a lion roaring, and we discuss which animal makes high sounds and which makes low sounds. After the review, it’s time to play a game!

Setup

Print out the free ear training game and cut along the dotted lines. If you like, attach a popsicle stick to each lion and kitty. Give each child a lion and a kitty and have them sit so they can’t see what you’re playing.

How to Play

Play either a high note or a low note. The kids hold up the lion if they think they heard a low note or the kitty if they think they heard a high note.
