Preschooler Interpretation of Music

by Kristin

Peek inside a child’s imagination! These kids show us their interpretation of a simple song through their artwork below. I love how creative the characters and their descriptions are. Isn’t it remarkable how the same song can be interpreted in so many different ways?

I usually run a contest like this with my preschool classes. I started up another round of music for preschoolers at the new year and we’ve been talking about how music can convey ideas and emotions. I love using this activity after we’ve dissected a few examples in class and talked about the stories each piece tells. Then I turn the kids loose with this exercise and their parents and I have a blast seeing the creative characters and descriptions the kids come up with.

The winner will get a prize and i’d love your help to select that winner. Check out the entries below and then vote for the character you think best fits the song.
