Winner! A. Stormy Night

The winners of our composition contest are posted. If you haven’t yet had the chance to listen to the songs, you should check them out!

For this contest, the kids drew a picture and then composed an original song for their picture. I was very impressed with their creativity!

Most of the kids participating were about age 6. The song “Just You” was composed and performed by our youngest participant, who is only four years old- he did great!

The songs were divided between two polls, and you’re welcome to check them both out: Musical Creations and Musical Creations 2.

Composition activities like this are a great way to get kids creating music! They’re also a fun way to apply the musical concepts you’re teaching. Give it a try with the kids you teach! I guarantee you’ll be impressed by their creations.
