How to Play Silent Night with Chords

by Kristin

How to Play Silent Night with Chords
Use this free printout to teach kids how to add chords to Silent Night. Use this activity after kids have mastered playing silent night by ear.

Just use the simple I IV V chords in this activity. If you used my How to Play Silent Night by Ear printout, you learned Silent Night in the key of C, and you will use the C F and G chords. For help with teaching chords to kids, you can check out my Piano Magic ebooks.

To use this sheet, kids play through Silent Night and then use their ears to figure out which chord goes in each star. After the chords are written in, students can practice playing with chords and more advanced students can embellish with different left hand patterns.
