The funny things students say….

by Kristin

My students had been asking to see my new baby, so one day I decided to go ahead and introduce my darling little sweetheart.

“He has a big body and a little head!”

That was a comment from one of my students. And I immediately started wigging out inside. I think I did a good job keeping cool on the outside.

Does he have a little head? My husband just laughs at me and says that our little guy is perfect. He was just bundled up in a lot of layers because it was cold that day.

I love that kids are so forthright about what they’re thinking and feeling…right? Their frankness definitely does give us a lot of things to laugh about.

Have you ever had a student say something innocent that was totally hilarious? Or something that, unbeknownst to their innocent little heart, was superbly awkward? Leave a comment below so we can all reminisce about the funny things kids say.

This isn’t something my student said, but I will never forget when a student of mine, so excited about his upcoming performance, wrote “RECITAL SONG” across the top of his piece, but forgot the “I”….It was so hard not to lose it after a long day of teaching, then seeing that every week!
