Understanding Intervals by Leila Viss

by Kristin

leila3d-216x300 Leila Viss has created a fantastic new resource for use in the piano studio. Understanding Intervals is an interactive ebook that is free when you sign up for Leila’s newsletter.

“Just like shoes, it’s all about size and color”

Through this ebook, students can learn all about intervals, and I think your students will enjoy her clever tie between intervals and shoes. I love that in addition to explaining the intervals, the ebook also plays the intervals for the students to hear. And you can even customize what a student sees so that students can learn at their level.

Have you ever tried a “flipped classroom” approach in your studio? This is where students explore a new concept on their own, through the media you provide. Then when you get together for the student’s lesson, you ask the student to teach you what they learned, answer questions and fill in any gaps that you notice.

Understanding Intervals is a resource you can use for “flipped classroom” learning. We’ve all noticed how many students have their minds elsewhere when we’re teaching a concept, but when they’re the ones teaching, you can be certain that they are engaged!

Click here to get your free interactive ebook “Understanding Intervals” and help your students master music intervals through fun and effective “flipped classroom” learning.
